return home...

we are happy owners of beutiful blue legend of polish motorization- we had to stop for a while and take some photos... we proceed home with outstanding velocity of 70 kilometers per hour...yes!

there she is...

finally we reached our destination...after short inspection, the owner-{young collector of old cars} told us a history of the car- he bought her from old farmer in almost factory condition- now he has not enough space to store nysa, so he made a decision of selling this beautiful car. We made the transaction, and we set out on a return journey.

the trip...

our dream was quite far away from the capitol- near Opole- we had to traverse about 250 kilometers. Here are some photos from the trip-

yes!

finally, we found an extra one...she was really nice...she was beautiful- just have a look- we made instant decision- we must have this outstanding car! Here is a foto from the advertisement

still making a search...

We were checking the advertisements every day, but without a good result. We found really funny one- check it out!

... to our great disappointment ...

What was beautiful on the photo, wasn't so good in real... White nysa was in rather poor condition- it wasn't visible on the picture, unfortunately.

making a search...

Unfortunately not many Nysa-vans survived to our times in acceptable condition. Many of them looks like a piece of metal crap...

But there was the light at the end of the tunnel- we found a beautiful one, and what's the best- from Warsaw! We immediately arranged appointment with owner of beautiful white Nysa...

the car...

we needed a car from times closely related to main theme of our service...
after short discussion we choose- nysa van.

The Nysa van was produced in the town of Nysa, Poland from the 1958 until the 1994. Most were sold to the armed services in Poland, particularly the Militia, and were painted a distinctive shade of dark blue. The Militia was the only form of police during the Communist era in Poland, including the dreaded ZOMO, which even years after it was disbanded many people linked to the dark blue Nysa van.

When Poland became a democracy again in 1989 the future was bleak for the Nysa. Development work had been minimal for the past 20 years and it was too closely tied to one buyer. When the Militia were reformed into a police force they had little money to buy vans, and even less desire to continue with an outdated one when now they had access to more modern, faster and safer foreign vans.

Both Nysa and sibling Żuk van were heavily based on the Warszawa, itself a licensed version of the Soviet GAZ-M20 Pobeda. Nysas were sold off in large numbers mainly to farmers, who did not mind the single, side opening reart door designed to allow the quick exit of the militia. In East Europe, these were also used as delivery vans, especially in Bulgaria and in some parts of Russia.

In Hungary Nysa vans were almost exclusively used as ambulance cars; 777 of them were in use in 1987.

Ok- now we have to find nysa for us- we started our research of the best polish van- nysa van...
